Carbon Black N231 is an Intermediate Super Abrasion Furnace (ISAF) grade with low structure and high surface area features high reinforcement. Low constant elongation medium super wear-resistant furnace black ISAF-LM.
Physical & Chemical Properties
N231 is a derivative of medium and super wear-resistant furnace carbon black, with an iodine absorption value of 121 g/kg and DBP92cm3/100g. It's iodine absorption value and CTAB are similar to N219 and N220, while the structure is between N219 and N220. The 300% elongation stress of the rubber is lower than that of N220, so it is called low elongation medium super wear-resistant furnace black.

Application :
Carbon Black N231 provides good tear resistance and moderate tensile strength which can be used in OTR (Off the Road) Tire Tread, Conveyor Belts, Mechanical Rubber, Rubber, Paints and Ink where resistance to tear is important. N231 can be used as a partial substitute for channel carbon black. It can give the rubber compound higher tensile strength, elongation and tear strength, and can improve the collapse and tear properties of the tread. It is especially suitable for high tear strength products.
